About Us
Founded in 1981 by Pt. Jeevat Ram Sharma, Rajasthan Bal Kalyan Samiti (RBKS) began with just 17 students in a small school in Jhadol (Ph), Udaipur. At that time, literacy in the region was below 10%. With limited resources, the founder and staff worked voluntarily, even using produce from their own fields to feed hostel children. Over time, trust grew within the community, enabling RBKS to expand its work with hostels for girls and an orphan home for boys.
By the late 1980s, RBKS realized that education alone could not solve the challenges faced by tribal and disadvantaged families. Issues of food security, water scarcity, and livelihoods needed urgent attention. In 1989, RBKS began its rural development journey, addressing agriculture, livestock, natural resource management, and community empowerment.
Today, RBKS stands as a trusted organization with more than four decades of experience, working tirelessly to uplift vulnerable communities through education, development, and sustainable livelihood programs.
