Water Story of Malap Village

Before Project Intervention

Women in the area are spending their lives bringing water for the family. If we analyze Liburi's daily routine, then we come to know that she spends around 80 days in a year for only this work. If we take an average life expectancy of 60 years and she started working at the age of 15, then she spends 3600 days in her life, or 9 years, to bring water. In this situation, we should think about how we can convert these times of her life into more productive working, which can bring happiness to the children and the family.

Not only Liburi, but every common woman living in tribal villages is living life like Liburi. Children’s childhood is also not visible in the daily routine of a tribal family. A big part of women’s lives has been spent fetching water. If she works in NREGA, then she has to bring water at night. Sometimes children also help their mother in her work. In Southern Rajasthan, like Udaipur, Sirohi district water scarcity is a big problem. In this situation, RBKS and BINANI take the initiative to intervene and help women and families in this problem area, and introduced the Roof Rain Water Harvesting Structure in the area. It will help her to save time, and she can use it for the betterment of the family.
